The concept was simple yet groundbreaking: take American superheroes and filter them through the aesthetic and storytelling sensibilities of Japanese anime. Each series consisted of twelve episodes and ran on Japan's Animax network. The project notably depicted these heroes going to Japan, embracing a "fish-out-of-water" narrative that was popular in both cultures.
