Dragon Ball Z Kai is a remastered and recut version of the original Dragon Ball Z anime series. Produced for the series' 20th anniversary, Kai was designed to be more faithful to Akira Toriyama's original manga. It trimmed down the original 291 episodes to 167, removing much of the filler content that was not in the manga, resulting in a much faster-paced and action-packed viewing experience. In addition to the revitalized animation, Kai features a brand new English dub produced by FUNimation, which is widely considered to be more accurate and higher in quality than the original English dub.
