The request to "repack" Florensky's work in a modern context suggests a desire to make his ideas more accessible to a broader audience. This could involve:
To Florensky, an icon is not merely wood and pigment, nor is it a symbolic illustration for the illiterate. It is an ontological phenomenon—a literal window through which the heavenly saints look out at us. If the congregation possessed perfect spiritual vision, the physical iconostasis would not be necessary because they would see the saints directly. The physical screen exists because our human sight is weak; the icons act as visual crutches, projecting the reality of the heavenly realm into our physical space. Pavel Florensky on Icon Painting and the Life of the Artist
In "The Iconostasis", Florensky examines the symbolic, liturgical, and spiritual significance of this architectural feature, which he considers a threshold between the sacred and the profane. The iconostasis, a screen adorned with icons, serves as a gateway to the divine, separating the mystical, sacramental realm of the altar from the mundane space of the congregation.
The iconostasis is described not as a barrier, but as a point of contact where the two worlds dissolve into each other.

OpenFOAM Funding 2025 - Please take 1 minute to read
Supporting organisations currently provide €250k for maintenance of OpenFOAM, i.e. of the order of 0.1% of the revenue of big commercial CFD. This current total is inadequate. Funding needs to rise to €500k this year, and continue to rise similarly over the next 3-4 years. Organisations with commercial dependence on OpenFOAM should contribute to the cost of sustaining it.
The OpenFOAM Foundation provides Maintenance Plans for organisations to support sustainability. There are three levels of Plan: Platinum (€ 100k per year); Gold (€ 25k); and, Silver (€ 5k). The funding supports a full-time team of core developers with combined skills in software design, programming, numerics, science and engineering, at CFD Direct (including OpenFOAM’s creator, Henry Weller).
